New brand from the H&M group

Today the newest brand by H&M group called ´& Other Stories´ opened in Copenhagen. It´s supposed to be a bit more expensive & better quality. At the moment there are only stores her in Copenhagen & in London at Regent Street. I think it´s pretty awesome that they chose Denmark before Sweden. If you live in Belgium, the Netherlands, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain & Sweden you can order online at www.stories.com.    I found some cool items from their site. Have a look.

Barbara I Gongini AW13 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week

Last night I attended Barbara I Gongini´s show. As usual it was very dark, a lot of layers and very detailed. I love how her clothes look on the models when they move. Unfortunately it´s hard to really catch on camera & the music she uses is really cool as well. Awesome show & there are a lot of her stuff that I would love to own that I would style with other items to make it mine.

Tomorrow at B56

To those of you that live in Copenhagen you have a unique opportunity to go to the cute shop B56 in Bredgade 56 at 3 o´clock to buy illustrations & posters by designer Anne Sofie Madsen. I would so love to go, but I just bought a piece of art by Signe Breum that I will show you soon. For those who don´t know Anne Sofie Madsens work you can see more here, here & here.

& here are some examples of her illustrations.

New in stores-wardrobe yum

Thank you sooo much for your bloglovin!!! You guys are the best!!!! It really means a lot to me since more people are likely to see my blog & as a blogger it makes more sense to keep up the work when you have readers stopping by regularly. So thank you!!!!

In Copenhagen it´s really warm at the moment & I am loving it!!!! But I can´t help notice all the nice autumn clothes that are popping up everywhere. Fx the Danish brand Wood Wood designed this hood that I have to have. I know it´s the same stuff that children are wearing, but somehow it really speaks to me.

It will look so cool with a oversized coat. Your face will be framed & you can let some hair out like in the picture so you won´t look like a 2 year old. You can find it here.

Acne coat-this will keep you warm : )

My guestpost at Tartars & Teacups

I hope you liked yesterdays guestpost by Lara from  http://tartarsandteacups.wordpress.com/

I also did a guestpost yesterday, at Lara´s blog & in case you didn´t see it. You can see it here.

Yesterday I went by the Acne Archive store. If you live in Copenhagen or are visiting at some point you should visit the shop. It´s last seasons collections mostly, but since Acne is so very minimalistic most of the time & doesn´t seem to go easily out of style it´s no problem. It´s always about 50% off, but right now they have a summer sale. & I did not leave empty handed.

Tomorrow I will show you what´s in the bag. The store is located in the coolest little shopping street called Elmegade at Nørrebro. It´s an excellent street with lot´s of cool places to eat. It´s very much a must-see if you are in Copenhagen.

A little fun for your kitchen

Summersales has been kicked off in Copenhagen so I went out to have a look. I ran into some new Mumin stuff. If you have been following me for a while you know that I like combining the clean minimalistic Scandinavian look with a little splash of fun-which makes Ittala´s Mumin porcelain collection just perfect for my home.

This is too cute. I think we need this one.

I love the character “My”. She is the little rebel & very much in love with Mumin.

For measuring or just for water.

I love buying stuff for my kitchen & I´m quite obsessed with cups at the moment. I am always looking for the perfect huge tea cup. I drink a lot of tea & i love to drink from big cups. The problem is though-that big cups often are ugly. Also I once thought that I should only have like 12 of the same cups, but I am always craving some new styles so I guess that will never happen. Tomorrow I will show you some of my new cup cravings-too bad there is no room for all of them : )

Distortion street festival this week!!!!

Okay enough with dilemmas for now, because this week is the week of Distortion street festival in Copenhagen. It all about crazy parties in the streets & this year there are also parties all night ( in a closed place so the citizens that choose not to play can have some sleep). There are parties in three parts of Copenhagen: downtown where I live, Nørrebro & Vesterbro. There are dj´s & musicians performing & crazy many people. I love it.

As you can see it´s organized chaos. There are also two parties for children also with music & there will be artists painting with the children. My oldest already has a spot reserved for her so she can paint with a pro. She is estatic to paint with a known artist as she loves art. I requested for her to paint with artist Mie Olise or artist Sarah Hvass. As you can tell I am just as exited. I have written about Mie Olise earlier here. Btw if you are going & haven´t bought a bracelet yet-please do as it helps the festival continue next year-there are a lot of cleaning up so they need to rent a crew to do the job. It´s not fair to leave it to the people that clean the streets on a daily basis. I will ofcourse take a lot of pictures at the events-it´s filled with gorgeous people that knows how to dress. So stay tuned it all starts this wednesday!

Sephora-now in Copenhagen

The beautychain Sephora opened recently here in Copenhagen. It´s really refreshing with all the new brands, they don´t sell Nars though, but I am not complaining ; )

Yesterday there was an event going on with models being bodypainted-tourists were glued to the window, watching the beautifully painted topless ladies. The makeup artists were doing party makeup on every volunteer. It was a lot of fun.

I took a couple of pictures for you to see

Gorgeous girl with great style.

Love her makeup.

Makeup forever was behind the bodypaint.

& some great news: Sephora just confirmed that they will be opening more stores in Denmark this year.

More pretty stuff in Copenhagen

A couple of days ago I met up with a friend I studied with at the university. We met at my local library, which is also the central library in Copenhagen. It has just recently been renovated & is now more cool than ever. Have a look inside:

There are several floors & a lot of nice places to hang out while reading, studying or playing with your kids. There are even instruments you can play without bothering other guests.

Loving the ceiling.

Nice furniture

Eames chairs & chunky black hard wood tables.

Outside you can park your bike & here a cool girl is also waiting.

Across the street is a synagoge. The conservative jews use this one. It has also just been renovated. It´s very beautiful inside.

As you can see the synagoge is a few meters behind the neighboring building. This is because buildings that represent religious minorities are not allowed to be as visible as the protestant churches. But as you can see the synagoge is far from invisible even though it´s 5 meters behind the other buildings.

The same street has a lot of cool shops. This is the entrance of Henrik Vibskovs shop & you can also find great shops like “Another Nué”, Carhartt & the cool vintage store “Times up”.

So as you can see this is a street worth visiting if you are in Copenhagen. The library is the place to have a nice break. Here you can sit down & rest your feet, use the restroom, read a international magazines & newspapers without paying. & the surroundings are beautiful-& there is a café is you need a bite or a cup of tea.

Dansk Fashion Award: the winners are….

A while ago I wrote 4 posts about the Danish Fashion Award show-you can see them here, here, here & here. I wrote about which nominees I voted for & showed you what my  opinions are based on. & last night the winners were revealed.

Best Accessory designer:

I voted Line & Jo

The winner: Line & Jo

They are hands down the best accessory designers in Denmark right now. They make jewelry to suit everyone. It can be romantic with a bow, but with a twist that makes it a little raw. There is always an edge.

Danish Brand of the year:

I voted Day Birger et Mikkelsen

The winner: Designers Remix

Designer Charlotte Eskildsen has created a strong brand so she truly deserves this award. Her clothes suit women in all sizes & it pretty cool : )

Designer Charlotte Eskildsen

Singer Medina in Designers Remix.

Danish Designer of the year:

 I voted Stine Goya

The winner: Silas Adler
Silas Adler really earned this award. He is really gifted & makes beautiful clothes. I remember him from when he was really young coming into the skateshop I worked in. He was always really quiet & polite & later he worked for some guys I know that distribute Carhartt in Denmark. In 2002 he started Soulland & was at the time only 17! I find it quite admirable!
Designer Silas Adler

Best new Danish designer:

Anne Sofie Madsen

The winner: Anne Sofie Madsen

I am not surprised. Anne Sofie Madsen´s work is genius! I think she really has what it takes to become the most powerful Danish designer.

Designer Anne Sofie Madsen

Amazing stuff don´t you think?!

Hairstylist of the year

I voted Marianne Jensen

The winner: Mette Thorsgaard

Hairstylist Mette Thorpesgaard

Best Danish Highstreet brand

I voted Second Female

The winner: Selected

I don´t think I have any stuff from Selected in my wardrobe. Not that it´s bad, but I rather shop other highstreetbrands.

Makeup artist of the year

Rikke Dengsø

The winner: Anne Staunsager

Anne Staunsager is baws ; ) She also won the category last year. I think this is her third actually!

Makeup artist Anne Staunsager

Wow-she´s good!

Fashionevent of the Year:

I voted A Decade of Danish Fashion, an exhibition celebrating 10 years with DANSK magazine. A collaboration with Danish Design Museum.

The winner: Fashionstamps by the Danish Postoffices
This was such a cool event. Danish Postoffices printed two stamps to promote Danish Fashion. One was made by Silas Adler for Soulland ( also designer of the year) & Malene Birger ( nominee for best brand-I actually thought she would win her category. Her brand is also very strong & has been on everybodys lips the past year ).

Danish fashion photographer of the year

I voted Jens Langkjær

The winner: Rasmus Skousen

Rasmus Skousen is a great photographer & he is also the creative director of my favorite Danish magazine called Cover.

Above is Rasmus Skousen in Kansas workwear by Danish designer Mads Nørgaard.

Rasmus Skousen shooting gorgeous & very talented Emma Leth.

Danish stylist of the year

I voted Rikke Wackerhausen

The winner:  Simon Rasmussen
Simon Rasmussen is quite avantgarde & hilarious. To some it might look like a Salvation army clothingcontainer threw up on the models, but i really like the noisy looks. For pictures at least.
See what I mean?!!

Etchical project of the year

I voted A Question of

 The winner: Aiayu
Aiayu is a quality, climate & social conscious brand. I looks really pretty & comfy.

Campaign of the year:

I voted Versace for H&M

The winner: Ole Lynggaard ss12 campaign

Ole Lynggard is an exclusive jewelry company has Helena Christensen in his campaign & she never fails. She could sell sand in Sahara. The campaign is beautiful.

New Danish model of the year

Women:

I voted Josephine Skriver

The winner: Josephine Skriver
Beautiful Josephine Skriver is this gorgeous model that transforms easily. But you can tell that she is very young & I think that it´s kind of sad that girls are selling womens clothes.

New Danish Male Model of the year:

I voted Henrik F

The winner: Henrik F

I voted Henrik F because he looks like a man & not a boy. He sometimes has a lot of facial hair that adds to his rough look.

Best Danish retail space:

I voted Wood Wood´s store in Copenhagen

The winner: Acne, Pilestræde, Copenhagen.

That shop is awesome. It´s like an art gallery. The day before they opened I took these shots.

Fashion truly had a great year in Denmark.
